Timber Towne
Easy rolling on a hot day.
Easy rolling on a hot day.
Warm morning, getting hot again. Pretty good pace going out, but took it easy on the way home.
Cool morning, even a little drizzle, but cleared up nicely. Interesting east wind which turned north.
Caught the bus at the Hatfield center.
Bayshore to Beachside to South Beach.
Gorgeous days on the beach.
Bus to Newport. A little rain, but not when I was riding.
Cool day. Rain coming. Nice.
After Imagine I headed out 53rd to Airport - Fern - Philomath. Nice cool day.
Nice cool weather persists.
Rain threatening but held off. 9 riders to The Barn.
Good turnout but most people went to Imagine. 4 of us went to Timber Towne.
Nice mellow ride. Not too hot. Little wind.
Figure 8. Out Crescent Valley, over Mountain View, Overlook, and Hood View. Stop in Adair for ice tea. Through old Adair base, out Independence/Corvallis Rd to Parker. Over to Helmick Park for a break. Out Airlie, over Berry Creek - Tampico. Across to Independence - Pettibone. Stop at Lewisburg store for ice cream. Home on 99w.
Smoke and high clouds were keeping it from getting as hot as it might have.
Cool morning and not hot afternoon.
Nice ride. Good turnout.
Got out early so I could do Decker before Hiatt. Legs felt like crap to start, but after Decker and a sugar hit at Hiatt I was feeling strong.
Want to get a longer ride in soon but today was windy and it got hot in the afternoon.
Easy cruise around town. Warmer today.
Back home trying to keep the momentum going from Loop Tour.
A cool overcast morning for the ride home. Best Loop Tour yet.
Another gorgeous ride. Two tough climbs and a couple of other hard climbs. Ocbow and Wolf Creek.
Absolutely gorgeous ride. The Smith River valley is less populated than the Yachats valley and almost as beautiful.
Easy day along the Umpqua. Got to see a lot of elk.
Today was the big day. Big miles and 4000’ of climbing. I felt great. Super low gears let me climb even the 15+% grades, very slowly. But I never had to get off and push.
Some hard climbs and endless hills. Cool in the morning but almost hot by afternoon.
Cool overcast day. Great route. Mostly tailwinds.
Day 1 - Warm with tailwinds on familiar flat roads. Lunch in Coberg.
Riding super slow and easy as I want to be well rested for Loop Tour on Saturday
Hot morning. Slow ride.
10 people showed up for the ride to Philomath. Got hot on the way back.
Met up at Hiatt and did Decker. Then John and I went back over Ervin.
Pushed hard on Decker. Felt good. Still considering Ravn for LT. Took it easy over Ervin. Got really tired before I got home.
It's official, I'm taking Grando on Loop Tour. It is just so much more responsive than my other bikes. Climbs well, and with weight on the front I get no shimmy on the fast descents.
From south beach to Hatfield center to catch the bus, then home.
Slept in and had a leisurely ride into Yachats, where I ran into Bruce H and his wife at the Green Salmon. Then back north into the wind which got progressively stronger. I was stopping a lot until I realized I had to get back to the WiFi at South Beach for a 4:00 meeting. Just made it in time.
Rode with some folks I met at South Beach. They continued south. Cooler and a bit foggy, but better than 98 in the valley.
Some of the gals came over to join me for a ride. Very nice. Was getting hot the farther inland we got, but then cooled off nicely as we got back to the coast.
Escaping the valley heat. Strong headwind made it a tough but refreshing ride.
Annual Fourth of July climb up Mary’s Peak. I did the road ride and parked on 34 at the bottom of the hill.
I did good. Very slow but never struggled. Perfect day. Just cool enough on the climb and warm enough on the downhill. Hot in town though.
Nice warm day. Big turnout.
Went down to meet LT1 riders as they were coming in.
