What fun. Families and kids.

Back when the original Loop Tour riders started having kids, and when these kids got big enoung, they started taking them on tour. Now these kids are grown up, but new families have joined the club and wanted to be able to tour with their kids. So 3 years ago the Mini-Loop Tour was born. A shorter, easier tour perfect for kids, or for people wanting to experience touring for the first time.

This year's route was easier than the past two years. Basically across the valley and back. Days 1 and 4 were flat, but days 2 and 3 had some hills, some of which were pretty steep.

I had been wanting to do this with my granddaughter when she got old enough and this was the year. We did fine but I learned that a tag-along bike is much harder to handle and pull up hills than a tandem. Next year we will have to get a tandem.

Mini-Loop 2017 Day 2 - Brownsville to Sunnyside Park. Warmer day today.

We left early and rode all the way to Sweet Home by ourselves. January was stoked to realize she had ridden all the way to Sweet Home. We stopped at the supermarket and waited for others to catch up. Turned into early lunch in the shade.

Pretty hilly ride today. We had to walk some of it. January did great.

Lots more swimming.

Shorter ride by some big hills.

Linda came and bailed me out. I need some help with January.

Mini-Loop 2017 Day 4 - Waterloo to Corvallis. Cooler day and windy.

January opted to go with Grandma which was good because I was beat. Riding with the tag along bike is way harder then loaded panniers. Rode most of the way with Val and George.

We went off course and took River Drive. A lovely ride and only a mile or two longer. Got back on route in Lebanon.
