Andy said he was thinking about an overnight ride, camping for one night. We thought about Stewart park but it was a little too far and most of the other options were at too high elevation for this time of year. So we opted for Valley of the Rogue Park between Gold Hill and Rogue River.
It was a decent day on Saturday though never got as warm as the forecast said. We had a good escort most of the way.
It started raining at about 4 in the morning on Sunday and kept up for most of the morning. I finally managed to crawl out of my sleeping bag by about 7:30. Here I am having my tea next to my bike with my tent in the background.
We got wet on the ride home but it was never cold. We stopped in Gold Hill and had breakfast under some good shelter in front of Ray's Food Place. We warmed up good on the climb out of Gold Hill on Blackwell road. Stopped for a snack at Hawthorn park in Medford and took the bike path home to Ashland.
My 'Trucker' was a pleasure to ride loaded. It handles the weight just the way it should. One thing I noticed is that on the flat, or slight downhill, once you get up to speed it takes very little effort to cruise. I'm really looking forward to some longer trips.
