Service log
Wheels trued
Recent crash left both wheels out of true. Mike fixed but said rims are now bent and required uneven spoke tension which will go out over time.
New tires
Second set of Babyshoe Pass extralight. First set got apporximately 5,000 miles.
New Handlebars
Velo Orange Grand Cru Nouveau Randonneur Handlebar
These bars are wider than the old ones, with a shorter reach and shallower drop. We'll see if I like them as much as the older Rando bars on my Grando.
Shorter stem
The new saddle (Brooks B17 Imperial Narrow) was telling me to sit up higher, so I flipped the stem back up, but then decided to get a shorter stem.
New Tires
Schwalbe Hans Dampf 26x2.35" knobbies. After the Coast Range Gravel Adventure 2018 I got fat tire envy watchng Eric and Sean on their 3" tires. This is as fat as I can go on this bike. Hopefully this will get me out on the trails more over the winter.
So this bike has had Compass Rat Trap Pass 2.25" slicks, Schwalbe Almotion 2.15" touring, and now these.
New saddle
Brooks B17 Imperial Narrow. I was feeling like the regular B17 was too wide and also applying too much pressure where it shouldn't.
Steer Stopper
Sam Stern had one of these Steer Stoppers on his Ritchy on Loop Tour and I thought "just the thing for the Saga". The VO steering damper really didn't work out that well. I'm really liking this.
Freehub body
Contacted VO rep on Facebook and he sent me a new freehub body for the VO Grand Cru Touring Hub to see if that stops the click clack noise. Trevor installed it for me.
Rotate tires
The back tire has worn through the wear indicator tread, which is supposed to be about a half life. I put on these Compass Baby Shoes at 6,640 miles so 2,670 so far, which is not bad.
