A real recovery ride. Just took it easy.
Rode with David's friend and his son who had never done a 50 mile ride before but want to do the MLC. Nice day. Not hot but a little muggy.
Long Valley Loop. Andy planned a great route through Medford and out to Eagle Point without taking Foothill. Crossed the Rogue at Dodge bridge and headed towards Sam's Vally. Came back between the Table Rocks and on into Central Point. Took the bike path
Mist and drizel but no real rain. I felt much better then I did on Sunday. Trails in good shape.
A few sprinkles here and there but not too bad. I was really dragging up the hill.
Two days ago it was in th 90s, today it was in the 60s. Good to get back on the mountain bike. Easy pace to start, harder up the trails. Took the road from Lamb's Saddle to Four Corners. Meet up with Egon, a bike builder new to the area from SF.
Really hot day, nice and cool in the woods and on top. Andy wanted to go slow so I went on ahead. Tried to hold it over 160 at 8 - 9 MPG. Had to slow down evry now and then but did good. 14.6 Avg.
Easy ride. Bike path to South Stage. Back Griffin to Pioneer and over the back side of Carpenter Hill. It was supposed to hit 90 today. I didn't leave until 4 which was about the the hottest time of the day. I cooled of nicely by the end.
First time up this year, two months and one week later then last. Still nice and cool on top. A few patches of snow under the trees. Starting to warm up in the valley.
Breezy and not too hot. Perfect riding weather. I was feeling rather slugish.
Siskiyou velo ride with Dan Wooten. Lots of people showed up for two different 50 mile rides. The one we did went up 5 creeks for 5000' of climbing. Poorman, Griffin, Coleman, Anderson, and Wagoner. Perfect temperature, about 70, with a nice breeze.
Bike path to South Stage to Dark Hollow to Carpenter Hill and back. Warmer. Still Head wind going out. Still dark too early for a longer ride.
A bit harder pace then I would have liked starting out, but once we started down from the orchards the rest of the ride was easy. My legs felt tired on the hills.
We went down early on Saturday and set up a table to promote the MLC and RTR. Hot this year but not has hot as two years ago. I did fine. Kept HR at 160 on Honey Run and maxed 1t 166 on Table Mt. Averaged 15 for the whole ride.
An easy ride but not quite easy enough for a recovery ride. I hope to be well rested for Chico on Sunday.
First real road ride of the season. Carpenter Hill - Dark Hollow - West Griffin Poorman - J'Ville - Old Stage - Senic - Grant - Hanley - Back over Dark Hollow and Pioneer - Back over Carpenter Hill - Adams Road - end of Bike path to Miseltoe.

A Friday night ride. Threating rain but we avoided it. Kept a good pace. Went up Catapiller. Didn't need lights at all.
Up Tolman. I was pretty beat from last night and took it easy. Vey nice night. Full moon coming up as we were going down. Did not use my lights at all.
Threatened rain before we started but cleared up nicely. Took the road up. No traces of snow at the trailhead. Didn't need lights until toothpick. Full moon behind thin clouds.
First up Horn Cap trail, but hit too much snow just before the top. Back down and then up to Hitt Rd, where it started raining. Got soaked on the way down. The trail was becoming a river.
Brisk pace up the hill. A bit warmer but the trails are still muddy.
Up and down. Had to stop and catch my breath a few times on the way up. Slight mist, almost rain.
Dark Hollow, Carpenter Hill, Adams Road. Cool but dry.
No rain. Trails still wet with some muddy spots. Didn't need lights until the bench.
Started out misty and ended up a steady rain.
Sunny and warmer. Met David in Jacksonville. Went out to the end of Siskiyou Blvd to get the miles.
On and off rain. Very muddy.
