Bike path to Medford - back on Colver
great group ride at a nice easy pace. Cool and pleasant.
great group ride at a nice easy pace. Cool and pleasant.
First ride after surgery. Pretty much starting over. My plan is to do short rides 30 miles and under for a month gradually in increasing the intensity before doing any longer rides.
Hot day but nice in the woods. Trails are getting loose.
First ride in two weeks and last one for at least that long.
The bike path is open under the freeway construction. You can now ride from Ashland to Central Point.
Hot. Up Tolman. Tried to go around the loop but still to much snow. Cat walk is great but Jabberwoky is pretty much undoable - really loose on top of the steepness, narrowness etc.
Hot - 100 in Medford. Not too bad on the climb but we went slow. Back side of Hyatt Lake still has lots of down tress and debris.
Back Colver. Recovery ride. My legs are very sore from Saturday's ride. Dan and Ellen rode their tandem.
Harder then ever. Seemed like some racers were leading the pace, but maybe I'm just slower. I was close to the last one up every hill.
Strong wind, fast pace.
Solo ride. Had to be back in time for band pratice.
Nice day and nice trail. Mostly easy rolling single track.
Got cold again then warmed a bit today. Trails are good but Spring Thaw race is this weekend. I felt much stronger after the century on Sunday.
Buckhorn Spgs Road to Rogue River. Perfect day for it. Warm but cloudy. Windy but at our backs when we needed it most. Ran into Paul and Dan D just as I rolled over 100.
Cold, wet, and muddy. Another great ride.
Smokey in the valley but a stiff north wind cleared it up pretty well. Warm day after a weird week. After 80 degrees on Saturday it snowed on Tuesday, was back up in the 70s today and its supposed to be 40s and rainy over the weekend.
Up 2060 - down Toothpick - up Tolman - down Catwalk etc. Warm and muggy. Still some snow on the side at the top of Tolman and across.
First really warm day of the year. Strong headwind going out 66. Felt like we started the climb as soon as we left Ashland. The wind died down when we hit the climb. Lots of snow left. Pictures
Buckhorn Spgs. Jacksonville. Second annual ride my years ride. Mostly sunny but cool, about 55 at the warmest. I took it easy and did fine considering I'm carrying 10 extra pounds and haven't gotten near the miles in this year.
Windy cool and sunny. All traces of snow are gone on the trails. Trails are in good shape. Up the single track. All the way down and up Toothpick.
Still some snow on the trails. See pictures.
Missed a week with a bad cold. Andy and I headed out Talent Ave - Colver and met David on Coleman. Then back out to Buckhorn Spgs, Cold wind from the North.
Cold but dry. First group ride of the Spring. I had a hard time keeping up.
Anne Chambers told me about a trail that starts where caterpillar crosses the road and comes down to the park. So Andy and I rode it this morning. Mostly a downhiller trail and still very rough, but still great fun. I probably walked a third of it. It will only get better over time.
Wow! Three of us on a night ride. Its been a long time. Nice night too. Its daylight savings now. We didn't leave till after 6:30 and didn't turn our lights on until the way back on Toothpick after doing Lamb's Mine first.
Warm enough to take off the leg warmers on the way up. Still lots of snow on the side of the road from about 3 miles from the summit. Back out the west valley and back the bike path.
Sunny but cold wind from the north. Lots of gravel still on 66.
Got out by 5. Up the single track. Did Lamb's Mine first and didn't need lights until I turned onto Toothpick. Warm. Just a short sleeve jersey going up.
Another solo ride. Nice warm night. Trails are in great shape.
to Valley view then over to the hearing clinic and back on N. Main
Lunch ride out to the freeway and back. Nice warm day.
Rain overnight and cooler. No new snow on the trails.
Still relatively warm and hasn't rained much. Still riding solo. Lunar eclipse tonight. It was coming up late but I got a great view on the way down.
Does't get dark until well after 6 now. Moon almost full. Still a few patches of snow on the trails.
Met David in Talent. Took Valley View back to Ashland including Wilson Road, E-Nevada and Pompadore. Then back the bikepath to Suncrest and out Payne road and David Lane. Fern Valley to the bikepath to S Stage. Then I came back via Vories and Colver. Some sun temps in the mid 40s.
Started up the hill but too much snow. Headed out the bikepath and then up Suncrest where it started sleeting on me.
Nice day. The sun was warm and the trails are still frozen. Took Toothpick all the way down to Tolman and back up again. White Rabbit had a few muddy spots but mostly in good shape.
Cold. The slush that gave me such a hard time on Saturday was now ice which was much easier to ride over.
Fog in the Valley and too much gravel on the highway. Sunny in Ashland
It got up to 50 today but I didn't get out until 4:30. Lots of debris on caterpillar and slush on toothpick.
