Prairie Creek Redwoods

Arrived at Prairie Creek Redwoods on Saturday. We had wanted to camp in the Redwoods but it was really wet and we were a bit indignant at the $35 camping fee now charged at all California state parks. We drove down to Fern Canyon but the water was too high so you couldn’t hike in without wading the creek. By now it had stopped raining so we decided to camp at Gold Bluff Beach. It was great. We spent both nights there and it didn’t rain at all.
Camp by the beach
Sunday I rode 31 miles, 10 of it with Linda. I rode up from the beach to Elk Prairie and Elk Meadows where I met Linda and together we rode up to Lost Main creek trail which goes though a lot of old growth Redwoods. Very cool. I only had 1.8 miles of singetrack on Streelow Creek trail which I rode in both directions. The rest was dirt road and bike paths.
